New major FoxyTunes version – share tunes on Twitter, Last.fm, Facebook and more!
A little over two years ago we embarked on a project called TwittyTunes. This addition to FoxyTunes was an experiment in letting people share what they listen to by posting to Twitter. Over time we’ve received lots of great feedback about TwittyTunes and have seen healthy use in our community. Thank you!
Today we’re excited to announce that TwittyTunes is officially a default feature within FoxyTunes! In addition to Twitter we’ve add support for Facebook, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger, Last.fm, and Yahoo! Status. With these services we let you share on your own terms – you can manually send messages to your social networks as well as setting up automatic services like Last.fm scrobbling. Install the new FoxyTunes now and begin by clicking on the share button shown below:

FoxyTunes is still the easiest way to share what you’re listening to. With one click you can let your friends on multiple social networks know what you’re listening to.

You can also automatically update your Skype and Yahoo! Messenger statuses while scrobbling directly to Last.fm.

This is a big step in sharing music on the web. It connects you and your friends with your music in real-time across the web. You can discover what your friends are listening to no matter where they listen to it – then get more info about the music through FoxyTunes Planet and Y! Music. Share more and discover great music!
We will be working hard over the coming months to add more services to TwittyTunes and make your sharing experience even simpler and easier. As always, please let us know what you think of this new major version of FoxyTunes. Also, we would love to hear what services should be in our next release. We thrive on your comments.

I think this is the greatest thing EVER! I’ll be the first to predict the enormous hit this will be! In fact, if I’m right everyone must follow me on Twitter – http://www.twitter.com/CAmbiguous.
I think the only drawback is if in realtime I have to hear this -

If someone shares this with me real-time, I’ll pass.

[...] Tweeting your tunes: The latest version of FoxyTunes is out and it’s all atwitter. FoxyTunes, the toolbar that lets you control tunes from within your browser, now lets you easily tweet about the music you’re listening to. A project started about two years ago, TwittyTunes is officially a new default feature within FoxyTunes. And remember, you have 140 characters, which is enough to tweet, “Listening to a song I love: The Dandy Warhols – The Legend of the Last of the Outlaw Truckers aka the Ballad of Sherif Shorty.” What’s more, you can also share your song via Facebook, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger, Last.fm, and Yahoo! Status. It’s a musical meetup. More here. [...]

Where do you send technical support feedback? I have Firefox 3.5.2 and Foobar/Columns UI and the title info in FoxyTunes is stuck/truncated. The advice in the FAQ about different configurations for alternate UI is out of date, too.

I’m not very happy with the URL that gets attached to my tweets by TwittyTunes – my friends all say that it’s utterly useless and never allows them to find whatever I’m listening to.
Is there any way of disabling the automatic URL?
December 10th, 2009 at 9:15 am
TwittyTunes shows no supported services on my machine, using FF 3.5.5 with FoxyTunes 4.0.5.1 (installed directly from your website) on Ubuntu 9.04. See screenshot: http://twitpic.com/sx7jy Therefore, I can’t scrobble to last.fm, which unfortunately renders FoxyTunes useless for me.

Having the same issue as Eric above. Ubuntu 9.10 + FF3.5.7 does not allow submitting music. It doesn’t fetch the URL nor does it show any available services. See Erik’s screenshot.
Fix?

Simple question. Is TwittyTunes login to Facebook or Tweeter information (uid, pasword) sent over in a secure (e.g. SSL) conection)
